The Temple of Karnak in Egypt is an ancient complex of religious structures located on the east bank of the Nile River. It was constructed over a period of nearly 2000 years, beginning in the 16th century BCE during the reign of Pharaoh Senusret I and continuing through the reign of Nectanebo II in the 4th century BCE. The temple complex was dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, and its main structure consists of a series of pylons, hypostyle halls, and obelisks.
