ECNR (Emigration Check Not Required) status is granted to Indian citizens who are either highly educated or have special skills that make them attractive to foreign employers. It is usually granted to those who have passed Class X or higher educational qualifications, or those who have professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India. ECNR status is also granted to those with a minimum annual income of at least Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
