About

A special guided visit and presentation dedicated to the recently installed organ at Temple Maguelone in Montpellier, including projections on its history and operation, followed by a short live performance by organists of the AOTM.

Temple Maguelone in Montpellier hosts a special event centred on its newly installed organ, which has quickly become a significant part of the venue's cultural and heritage identity.

The programme opens with a guided visit of the temple, followed by a dedicated presentation using projections to explain the fundamental workings of a pipe organ and to recount the full story of this instrument — from its conception and development through to its financing, creation, and artistic objectives.

The presentation will also cover the organ's specific technical characteristics and the musical repertoire it is suited to.

A Q&A session will allow the audience to engage with the presenters, and the event concludes with an approximately 20-minute recital performed by organists from the AOTM (Les Amis de l'Orgue du Temple de Maguelone).

The event is presented by François Devienne, president of the AOTM.
