About
KONTRAST is a cabaret evening in Copenhagen, given by students from RDAM, the Royal Danish Academy of Music, who bring fresh life to the cabaret style of the 1920s and 1930s. It is a concert rather than a play: a night of songs and performance shaped by a style that was popular in its day and still rewards close listening.
About the evening
The concert takes place at Folkehuset Absalon, a community venue in the city, on 1 November 2026. The programme was curated by vocal students Havard Magnussen and Liv Lechuga, so the selection and the staging reflect the vision of two performers from within the academy.
Visitors should note that a meal ticket of DKK 75 is required for entry. The concert suits anyone curious about music from the interwar years, and about how a young generation of singers interprets it.
