This Phil Closer event at the Academy Concert Hall invites audiences to witness the creative process first-hand. Reumert Award-winning composer Matias Vestergård will work with Copenhagen Phil musicians to compose a new piece live in the room — shaped in real time with the audience as active participants.
Following the live composition, Lea Han — founder and director of Festival & Friends — joins Vestergård for a conversation about his new piano concerto, which is being performed at the evening's main concert. The talk will explore questions of musical intuition, how ideas emerge, and what it takes to write for a full symphony orchestra.
The programme runs from 16:15 to 17:40, after which the bar opens for the final 20 minutes. Doors open at 16:00.
