About

Over 50 artists transform Place Max Rouquette into an open-air gallery in Montpellier, featuring painting, illustration, sculpture, street art, live painting performances, poetry, music, food, and a live artwork auction running from 10:00 to 21:30.

On September 19, 2026, Place Max Rouquette in Montpellier transforms into a sprawling open-air art village from 10:00 to 21:30, welcoming over 50 painters, illustrators, sculptors, and street artists inspired by the visionary spirit of Alphonse Mucha.

Four artists will create large-scale works live throughout the day in real time — a visceral display of colour, gesture, and improvisation. At the close of the day, all four completed works will be auctioned on-site, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the artists.

Poetry readings and vocal performances will punctuate the day, and live music kicks off from midday, building a warm and festive atmosphere. A food and drinks stand ensures visitors can eat, drink, and socialise throughout the event.

Entry to the festival is entirely free. The event wraps up at 21:30.
