About
Participants discover the cyanotype, an early photographic technique known for its distinctive blue tones, and create their own prints from archival images at the Archives départementales de l'Hérault in Montpellier on 20 September 2026.
This hands-on workshop introduces participants to cyanotype, one of the earliest photographic printing processes, instantly recognisable for its characteristic deep blue tones.
Attendees will work directly with archival images, exposing them using the cyanotype method and then revealing the prints in water, watching the photographs gradually emerge.
Each participant leaves with their own finished cyanotype prints. The session runs from 14:00 to 16:00 and is held at the Archives départementales de l'Hérault as part of the European Heritage Days 2026.
