About
The ESG Big Band Heidelberg — affectionately known as the "Big Bang" — is the big band of the Protestant student parish (ESG) of Heidelberg. Founded in 2017, the ensemble has grown into a vibrant, versatile group of 20 to 25 passionate musicians.
Its members are largely students, recent graduates and doctoral researchers from the University of Heidelberg, brought together by their shared love of music. The band's wide-ranging repertoire spans jazz, swing, funk, latin, soul, pop arrangements and selected vocal pieces, always leaving room for improvisation alongside tight ensemble playing.
The concert takes place at the Temple protestant de la rue de Maguelone, 25 rue de Maguelone, Montpellier, on Thursday 8 October 2026 at 20:00. Admission is free (voluntary contribution).
