Monday Music – Sextets takes place on Monday, 5 October 2026 at 19:30 in The Studio Hall of the Royal Danish Academy of Music (DKDM), Rosenørns Allé 22, Frederiksberg.
The programme opens with Ralph Vaughan Williams's song cycle On Wenlock Edge, scored for tenor, piano, and string quartet, performed by tenor Thor Huttunen, pianist Eirik Stave, and the AKELA Quartet (with Alana Hjort on violin, Julia Pamina Smit on viola, and Alexander Shirinyan Rohde on cello). The concert continues with Ernst von Dohnányi's Sextet for clarinet, horn, violin, viola, cello, and piano, featuring Villum Speyer Thomas (clarinet), Cecilia Welde (horn), and Marianna Shirinyan (piano) alongside members of the AKELA Quartet.
Monday Music is a regular concert series at DKDM devoted to chamber music of the highest artistic standard. Each edition runs for approximately 90 minutes without an interval, and is followed by an informal social gathering in the bar where the audience and musicians can meet and mingle.
