Team Salsa Sextet takes the stage at Balattou in Montréal on October 17, 2026, delivering an evening of high-energy salsa rooted in both Havana street culture and the Latino neighbourhoods of New York City.
Their sound — known as salsa del barrio — is rich and authentic, weaving Afro-descendant rhythms with generous doses of improvisation and swing. Boiling percussion lines and a brass section that sculpts the groove make every song an irresistible invitation to the dancefloor.
Through their music, the sextet explores themes of exile, celebration, and cultural resistance, honouring the Afro-Cuban musical heritage while pushing it forward with unbridled energy.
