NOVO Quartet brings an extraordinary concert experience to the Library Hall (Bibliotekssalen) of Copenhagen's iconic Round Tower on 29 October 2026, as part of the Light Year 2026 programme. The performance is conceived in direct dialogue with the Light Echoes exhibition, where art serves as a medium for complex astrophysical research.
Light installations will be woven throughout the concert, creating an immersive atmosphere in which time and space seem to dissolve. Drawing a parallel to the exhibition's cosmic themes, the music becomes a reflection of astrophysical phenomena — a union of art and science that engages sight, sound, and the sense of time simultaneously.
NOVO Quartet is made up of violinists Kaya Kato Møller and Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard, violist Daniel Śledziński, and cellist Signe Ebstrup Bitsch. Founded in 2018, the quartet has already graced some of the world's most prestigious chamber music stages, including Wigmore Hall in London and Laeiszhalle in Hamburg.
Among the quartet's accolades are top prizes at competitions in Geneva, Heidelberg, the Carl Nielsen Competition, and Trondheim. They were most recently selected as BBC New Generation Artists 2025–27, and from autumn 2025 they begin a multi-year residency as Ensemble in Association at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
