About
Salle Pierre-Mercure is a performing arts hall on Boulevard De Maisonneuve Est in Montreal, Quebec. It sits within the Centre Pierre-Péladeau, which belongs to UQAM, the Université du Québec à Montréal, and it is named after Pierre Mercure, a Quebec composer and musician.
What to expect
The hall was built in 1992 and has a flexible layout. Depending on the configuration, it seats between 793 and 845 people, with orchestra-level seating and a 237-seat balcony. For concerts and recitals, a stage with an acoustic shell is set up, which suits chamber and classical music.
Over the years the hall has welcomed a wide range of programming, including classical and popular music, dance companies, theatre, comedians, circus and variety shows, and conferences. That range makes it a useful place to check when you are looking for something other than the usual evening out.
Practical notes
- Technicians and ushers staff every event.
