About
Théâtre Plaza is a performance venue on Rue Saint-Hubert in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighbourhood of Montréal. It opened in 1927 as a movie palace, and it has since been restored and given a new life as a live theatre for concerts, comedy shows and other cultural events.
A former cinema with its original architecture
The venue was once among the most luxurious cinemas in the city, and it has kept much of its original architecture. Walking in, you are seeing the building much as it was designed nearly a century ago, which gives a performance here a character that a modern hall does not always have.
What to expect
Théâtre Plaza hosts concerts and other live events throughout the year. Its schedule changes, so the best approach is to check the programme for the date you have in mind. Doors and show times are listed for each event, so you can plan your evening once you have chosen a show.
- Concerts across a range of styles
- Comedy shows and other live entertainment
- Cultural events and performances
The theatre can also be rented for concerts, dance evenings and corporate events, so you may come across it on occasions beyond its public programme.
Getting there
The theatre is easy to reach by public transit. Beaubien metro station is nearby, and buses 18 and 30 serve the area. If you are driving, there is a parking lot on Rue Saint-André close by.
