About

As part of the European Heritage Days 2026, the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie presents a Heritage Concert at the Opéra Orchestre national de Montpellier, conducted by Brazilian maestro Eduardo Strausser.

The programme opens with Lumina by American composer Nina Shekhar (born 1995), a work that explores the tension between light and darkness through contrasting tonal and textural colours.

South Korean violinist Sarang Seohyun Kim then performs Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, KV 216. Kim became the youngest laureate in the history of the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition at the age of 14.

The concert concludes with Prokofiev's Symphony No. 7 in C sharp minor, Op. 131, composed in 1952 — a work of tender farewell in which the composer revisits classical forms with warmth and nostalgia.

A pre-concert meeting with the artists is offered to attendees.
