What is the history of Acadia National Park?

Acadia National Park is located in the state of Maine and was established in 1919 as the first national park in the eastern United States. It is the only national park in the northeastern United States and is known for its rocky coastline, mountains, woodlands, and historic sites. The park was designated as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1986 and is a popular tourist destination.
