About
Kerry Cliffs rise from the Atlantic coast near Portmagee, in County Kerry, Ireland. Known also as the Cliffs of Kerry, they are sea cliffs reaching about 300 metres high, and they offer broad views out over the open ocean and towards the Skellig Islands.
What to expect
The setting is the main draw. The cliffs are dramatic in scale, and on a clear day the sweep of water and the islands on the horizon make a memorable outlook. Because the coast is exposed, conditions can change quickly, so it is worth checking the weather before you set out and dressing for wind.
Part of the Ring of Kerry
The cliffs lie along the Ring of Kerry, the well-known scenic route around the Iveragh Peninsula. For many visitors they make a natural stop on a longer drive or cycle, combined with other coastal views along the way. Portmagee, the village nearby, is a small community on the coast and a convenient base for exploring this part of the peninsula.
