About
Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens sits on the Diamond Estate in Soufrière, on the west coast of Saint Lucia. The garden is also known as Diamond Waterfall, and the waterfall is its best-known feature: water cascades over mineral-rich rocks, and the mineral deposits give the rock face its striking colours, which shift in the light.
What you will see
The falls are set within lush botanical gardens, so a visit is as much about the surrounding greenery as the water itself. Paths lead through the planting, and the rock formations and the falling water make a pleasant, unhurried place to spend an hour or so.

Its history
The falls were discovered by soldiers serving King Louis XVI in 1784, a reminder of the island's long and layered past under successive colonial powers.
Planning your visit
Diamond Falls suits visitors who enjoy nature, gardens and photography, and it pairs well with a wider day in and around Soufrière, a town known for its volcanic landscape and coastline.
