About
AZARA is a Montreal quintet that blends flamenco rumba with rumba, jazz and Latin music influences. On 22 November 2026, the group performs at Balattou, the venue at 4372 Boul. Saint-Laurent in Montreal, for a concert of its own.
The band
The group was founded in Montreal in 2017. Its line-up brings together Fernando Gallego El Bancalero on vocals and composition, Gabriel Evangelista on piano, composition and arrangement, Quique Tasta on guitar, Hanser Santos on percussion and Juan Pablo Montoya on bass. Earlier appearances include the Canada Latin Awards gala in 2020 and Vitrine MUZ in 2022.
What to expect
The evening is a live set built on the band's mix of flamenco rumba, jazz and Latin sounds, with vocals, piano, guitar, percussion and bass at the centre. AZARA is also preparing the release of its first album, so the concert may be a chance to hear the material before it is widely available.
