About
Wolfskin Ensemble brings Songs About Everything: Animal Stories to ALICE in Copenhagen on 26 November 2026. It is a concert, and a multimedia one: the work is written for seven performers and video projection, so the evening is as much about image and sound working together as about music alone.
About the work
The piece is by American composer Natacha Diels. It draws on the invented mythology of three human origins, which imagines people arising from fish, from bear, and from bird eggs. These origins come from Sheila Heti's novel Pure Colour, and Diels uses them as a starting point for a piece about how beings relate to one another and how difficult it can be to change.
What to expect
- A live performance by seven musicians, presented by Wolfskin Ensemble.
- Video projection running alongside the music, so the staging is part of the experience.
- Themes of interaction, transformation and the stories people tell about where they come from.
The concert takes place at ALICE, a venue in Copenhagen. For visitors, it makes a focused evening out: a contemporary work with a clear conceptual thread, suited to those who enjoy new music and mixed media rather than a familiar repertoire.
