About
The Study Concert: Composition is a student evening in Copenhagen, Denmark, held in the New Hall of the Royal Danish Academy of Music (DKDM) in Frederiksberg. It is a concert of new music, with works written by students of the composer Jeppe Just Christensen performed by musicians on stage.
What to expect
- Format: a concert of student compositions, so the programme centres on new works rather than a fixed repertoire.
- Date and time: 19 November 2026, starting at 19:30.
- Venue: the New Hall at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, in Frederiksberg, a district bordering central Copenhagen.
A study concert of this kind offers an intimate look at how young composers are developing their voice. Audiences tend to hear music that is still exploring ideas, which can make for an open and attentive evening.
Around the visit
Frederiksberg is a leafy district close to the city centre, so the concert can easily be paired with a walk through the area or a meal in Copenhagen before or after. The academy is a working music school, and attending a student event gives a sense of its everyday life.
