About

UNESCO世界遗产中世纪矿业小镇,拥有St. Barbara大教堂、Italian Court和著名的用人骨装饰的Sedlec人骨教堂。

Kutná Hora is a medieval mining town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, about an hour's journey from Prague. Its historic centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a visit here is a good way to see how a town grew up around silver mining in the Middle Ages.

What to see

  • St. Barbara's Cathedral, a Gothic church that is one of the town's best-known landmarks and a fitting centrepiece for a walk through the old streets.
  • The Italian Court, a historic building that reflects the wealth the mining trade once brought to the town.
  • The Sedlec Ossuary, a chapel decorated with human bones. It is one of the most unusual sights in the Czech Republic and draws visitors who want something out of the ordinary.

Planning the visit

The historic centre is compact enough to explore on foot, so the main monuments can be reached without much travel between them. Give yourself time to wander the streets as well as to visit the buildings, since the town's character comes as much from its lanes and squares as from its individual sights.

The historic centre is based around Palackého náměstí, 284 01 Kutná Hora. For questions before you go, the town can be reached by phone on +420 327 512 378.
