About

致力于展示挪威探险家Thor Heyerdahl的冒险经历,展出原版Kon-Tiki木筏和Ra II芦苇船。位于Bygdøy半岛。

The Kon-Tiki Museum sits on the Bygdøy peninsula in Oslo, Norway, at Bygdøynesveien 36. It is also known as Kon-Tiki Museet. The museum is devoted to the adventures of Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl, whose voyages across the sea drew wide attention and still shape how visitors think about ancient seafaring.

What you will see

The museum's central display is the original Kon-Tiki raft, the balsa-log craft in which Heyerdahl and his companions crossed the Pacific. Alongside it is the Ra II, a reed boat that Heyerdahl built and sailed in a later expedition. Together the two vessels show two very different approaches to ocean travel, and they make the museum a focused visit built around a few remarkable objects rather than a large collection.

Planning your visit

  • Location: Bygdøy peninsula, a short distance from central Oslo.
  • Address: Bygdøynesveien 36, 0286 Oslo, Norway.
  • Contact: +47 23 08 67 67.

Because the museum is on Bygdøy, it pairs well with the other museums on the peninsula. Visitors who enjoy maritime history may find the setting especially fitting, as the vessels themselves are the story. Check with the museum before you travel for current opening times and admission details.
