About
My Son Sanctuary is an ancient Hindu temple complex in Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam. Its address is Duy Phu Commune, Duy Xuyen District, and it is also known as My Son Holyland, My Son Holy Land, or My Son Temple Complex. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is one of the best-known heritage places in central Vietnam.
What you will see
The complex dates from the 4th to the 14th centuries and was built in the Cham style. Its brick temples and the sculptures set among them show the craft and the religious life of the people who built them. For many visitors, the appeal lies in the quiet of the ruins, the red brick against the green hills, and the sense of how long the place has stood.
What kind of visit it makes
- A half-day or longer walk among the temple groups, suited to those interested in architecture, sculpture and history.
- A slow, unhurried visit, best when you can take time to look closely at the carvings and brickwork.
- A trip that pairs well with the wider heritage and landscape of Quang Nam.
