About
Boubé brings his desert blues to Balattou in Montreal on 7 November 2026, with the show starting at 9:00 PM. The Tuareg singer-songwriter's music blends meditative melodies with raw rock, drawing on the nomadic Berber rhythms of the central Sahara. For a visitor, it is an evening of music that feels rooted in a distant landscape while played in the heart of the city.
The music
Boubé's sound is built on the rhythms of Berber life in the central Sahara, and it is shaped by a rock edge that gives the melodies weight and momentum. His set draws on his 2025 album Voyager, released on Disques Nuits d'Afrique and Believe. On stage he moves between acoustic and electric guitar, with percussion and drums, so the performance shifts in texture from quiet and reflective to driving.
Background
Boubé won the Syli d'argent for world music in 2024. He has also worked with fellow Tuareg musicians Bombino and Mdou Moctar, both well known in the desert blues scene, which places his work within a wider community of Saharan musicians.
