In celebration of the Beethoven Year 2027, Beethoven Orkestret Bonn visits DR Koncerthuset with chief conductor Dirk Kaftan and award-winning pianist Marianna Shirinyan. The orchestra hails from Beethoven's birthplace of Bonn and carries a special responsibility for his musical legacy, understood as a message of freedom, community and dialogue.
The programme features two of Beethoven's most beloved works: the Piano Concerto No. 5, the 'Emperor Concerto', performed with Marianna Shirinyan as soloist, followed by Symphony No. 7, celebrated for its infectious energy and near-ecstatic spirit.
The orchestra brings together musicians from more than 15 nations, while soloist Marianna Shirinyan has roots across several European cultures — together making the case for Beethoven's music as a living, boundary-crossing force.
