Amsterdam post-punk band Marathon take over Ideal Bar at VEGA on 15 November 2026. Rooted in the Dutch underground scene, the band fuses sharp post-punk edges with shoegaze atmospherics to create music where raw emotion and kinetic energy run free.
In spring 2025, Marathon released their debut album Fading Image, exploring themes of transience and resilience through haunting melodies and introspective lyrics that hold darkness and hope in equal tension.
After a sold-out tour in the Netherlands and an extensive European run, the band has built a reputation for viscerally intense live performances built on driving drums, raw vocals and a distinctive, heavyweight bassline.
