About
Pierre Lapointe performs songs from his new album at Le Gesù (Amphithéâtre) in Montreal on October 28 at 20:00, accompanied by the duo Fortin-Poirier on four-hand piano. French chanson with a mix of humour and melancholy.
Pierre Lapointe presents a show built around his new album, 10 chansons démodées pour ceux qui ont le coeur abimé. It features polished arrangements, a disorienting set design and his distinctive stage presence, shifting between biting humour and strong melancholy.
He is joined by the duo Fortin-Poirier. Amélie Fortin handles the adaptation of the song arrangements for the stage, with an unusual four-hand piano format that favours rigour and simplicity.
The programme mixes older and new songs, offering a look into the work of an artist described as the most surprising singer of his generation.
