REXEN takes to Studie 3 at DR Koncerthuset for an intimate concert centred on his album The Chauffeur. A veteran of stages including Roskilde Festival, SPOT Festival and Copenhagen Jazz Festival as well as venues around the world, REXEN brings a thoughtful and craft-driven approach to his live performances.
The Chauffeur is a conceptual album that examines masculinity, responsibility and love from the perspective of a self-declared feminist. REXEN uses the figure of the chauffeur — someone who takes the wheel and gets you from A to B — as a metaphor for the protective and creative roles he inhabits both personally and artistically. The album also offers a critique of what he sees as both toxic masculinity and toxic feminism in a polarised public debate.
Created with time, patience and respect for the craft, The Chauffeur is conceived as a holistic work where sound, space and presence are as important as the songs themselves. The intimate setting of Studie 3 gives audiences a uniquely close experience of this artistic universe.
