About
British underground band Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats play Amager Bio in Copenhagen on 24 February. Led by Kevin Starrs, the band has been active since 2009 and blends psychedelic pop melodies and vocal harmonies with dark, heavy proto-metal.
Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, led by Kevin Starrs, emerged from the British underground in 2009 and have built a world of their own since then.
Their sound mixes the quirky melodies, vocal harmonies and playful arrangements of psychedelic pop with the dissonance, thunder and dark imagery of proto-metal. It is not pure nostalgia: what feels familiar comes across as new.
Live, the songs become a dense, unsettling and compelling experience, with every riff and harmony drawing the audience deeper into the band's labyrinth.
