About
On 26 February 2027, DR Vokalensemblet, the vocal ensemble of Danish Radio, performs Himmelsk lys at Marmorkirken in Copenhagen. The concert begins at 17:30 and forms part of the Copenhagen Light Festival 2027.
About the concert
The programme is a choral concert built around celestial light. The singing is paired with modern light design and electronic soundscapes, so the music and the lighting are meant to be experienced together rather than separately. It is a concert for listeners who enjoy choral music in a setting that is shaped as much by light as by sound.
About the venue
Marmorkirken, also known as Frederikskirken, is the church where the concert takes place. Its interior suits a performance in which the lighting plays a central role. Tickets are sold through the DR Koncerthuset ticket site, and the link is listed with this event.
Why visit
- A choral concert by a professional ensemble, in a church setting
- Light design and electronic soundscapes integrated with the singing
- Part of the wider Copenhagen Light Festival, so the evening can be combined with other festival events in the city
Visitors planning a trip to Copenhagen in late February can make the concert the centre of an evening, arriving in good time for the 17:30 start.
