About
The Atatürk Pavilion stands in the Soğuksu neighbourhood of Ortahisar, in Trabzon, on the Black Sea coast of Turkey. Known locally as the Atatürk Köşkü or the White Pavilion, it is a white wooden mansion built in 1890, and it is the place where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed during his visits to Trabzon.
What you will see
Today the building is a museum. Its rooms are furnished in the style of the period and display personal items connected with Atatürk's time here. The house itself is the main attraction: its timber construction and bright exterior give a clear picture of how a well-to-do residence of its era was built and arranged.

- Best suited to: visitors interested in Turkish history, in Atatürk's life, or in historic domestic architecture
A visit to the pavilion takes a relatively short time, so it pairs easily with other stops in the city. Because the museum is small and personal in character, it suits a quiet, unhurried look rather than a long day out. If you are visiting Trabzon for the first time, it offers a useful link between the city's history and its present-day life on the coast.
