About

Templo antiguo construido por Raja Man Singh de Amber en el siglo XVI. Originalmente de siete pisos de altura, ahora parcialmente conservado pero sigue siendo un importante sitio de peregrinación.

The Govind Dev Temple stands on Govind Dev Gali in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, and is also known as the Govind Dev Mandir. It is a temple of considerable age, built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh of Amber. The structure was originally seven stories tall. Today only part of it survives, but the temple remains an important pilgrimage site and a focus for devotees visiting Vrindavan.

What to expect

Visitors come here primarily for worship, and the temple is best approached as a place of devotion rather than a conventional sightseeing stop. Because only part of the original building is preserved, the visit is as much about appreciating what remains and what it represents as about the building's former scale.

  • A historic temple linked to the 16th century and to Raja Man Singh of Amber
  • A partly preserved structure that once rose seven stories
  • An active pilgrimage site, so the atmosphere is devotional
