About
Teater Republique is a contemporary theatre in Copenhagen's Nørrebro district, housed in a former industrial building. Its work fills two historic stages at Østerfælled Torv, Kanonhallen and Dansescenen, and the venue also includes a popular café and bar, which makes it an easy place to spend an evening even before the performance begins.
What you can see
The theatre aims to be a modern, international house that bridges classical, story-driven theatre and inventive, physical theatre. Its programme mixes classics, newly written texts and dance and music, with a strong social engagement running through many of the productions. Alongside plays, it also offers concerts and talks, so the calendar can suit different tastes.
Several productions are made for younger audiences. The theatre presents performances suitable for children aged 4 to 11, so families with small children may find something to attend together.
